Community Partners: Supporting Our Neighbors
Community organizations are a lifeline to health and human services for many of our neighbors.
Safety net organizations such as free clinics and human service charities work hard to provide care for clients throughout our region. For many agencies with limited staff and shrinking budgets, acquiring the materials they need is time-consuming and costly.
Global Links’ Community Partners Program supports organizations serving uninsured, underinsured, and vulnerable populations in Western Pennsylvania and neighboring areas.
We work with agencies to assess their specific needs and develop a framework for support. Through this process Global Links’ staff can provide partners with medical supplies and equipment, mobility aids, personal care items, medical uniforms, baby care supplies, administrative furnishings and more.
“Literally having to keep clients on hold till we got what they needed. The donations to Off The Floor by Global Links have helped us to build a stockpile of these items to supplement our regular donations with and insure that we can address our clients’ needs without extending the waiting period for them.”
–Robert Meyers, ED, Off the Floor
“The populations we serve at OSN are the unsheltered homeless who are often reluctant to come inside and be seen. The supplies we receive from Global Links are very much appreciated and enable us to keep our cost down in stocking the shelter.”
– Judy K. Irvin, Supervisor, Operation Safety Net
“Of all the items that we receive from Global Links the one we rely on the most is the Similac Advance Formula. If we didn't get this from Global Links we would have to go out and purchase it for our clients.”
– Andrea Meloy, Genesis of Pittsburgh
